Wheweee! Can you guys FEEL the full moon lunar eclipse tonight? I feel like every part of me is electrified and I’m ready for what’s coming next. We’re still in Leo season, so pay attention to themes of working with our inner child, being creative, taking pride in what we do and our unique selves, assuming responsibility or the leadership position, and being generous with our time and our abilities.
This full moon lunar eclipse is in the sign of Aquarius which brings up different themes of worldwide views, equal rights for all, humanitarian efforts of all kinds, future-oriented thinking, and rebelling against whatever is stagnant in our lives or abroad. Eclipses are always a potent, powerful time, helping to bring about endings where maybe we didn’t know how, so we can start anew and get headed in the right direction. Lunar eclipses also represent the resetting of emotions, where the full moon brings illumination to all things, highlighting endings, but also relationships of all kinds—this combo is very intense and can be hard for some people’s mental space, so watch out for depression and anxiety right now. Be ok with confusion, too. Being confused just means that things are shifting and changing and you’re not sure what you want or where to go with your new info. This is ok, so take your time and navigate it the best you can.
Eclipses are like doorways: the last lunar eclipse we had was back in February, so this eclipse should be bringing a close to whatever was happening/starting then. This ending is paving a path to a new doorway, which is occurring at the solar eclipse at the end of the month on the 21st. It’s important to trust where an eclipse takes you—you may not be happy with some of the endings that occur or be aware that this new path you’re embarking on is really the one you asked for, but try to keep in the back of your mind right now that when everything feels like it’s falling a part, it’s actually falling into place. Cathy Pagano from Wisdom of Astrology says,
“All eclipses help us shift our reality…”
“This eclipse asks, how can we let our Leo leadership abilities, our creativity and our bravery shine out to add to, not take away from, the Aquarius group Mind?
“I like to think of Aquarius as The Round Table where we all sit as equals, and this eclipse tells us to stop being afraid to let ourselves shine out, especially when we’re with our group.
“So let your Lioness roar and call out to your group. The roars from your pride will come back to you. And then let your group—your pride—support you.
“Lions are also playful – one of the ways lionesses teach their young… Don’t forget, fun is definitely a Leo word!
“And passion! Another good Leo word, for passion ignites consciousness! We are most creative and ourselves when we’re having fun!
“…This year, the opening of the Lionsgate is especially potent, since astrologically, the Leo Power Gate is at 15* Leo…“With the Full Moon occurring at 15*25’ Aquarius/Leo, we are truly in this energetic vortex… that is a doorway to the riches of each of these archetypal journeys.
“In Leo, the riches we discover are self-confidence, power, leadership, pride, creativity, self-awareness and light, our light.
“In Aquarius, we discover our visions for the future, our connection with society and our archetypal Mind.
“This Aquarius Moon will shape and embody these Leo gifts, will take Leo’s offerings and shift out what is useful for our collective well-being.”
Did I also mention we have mercury going retrograde on the 12th? I know most of you just let out a collective guttural scream because WHY wouldn’t this insanity add more to itself? But really, mercury retrograde is just asking us to go inside and re-evaluate what’s working and what’s not. Truly, this is the perfect energy to lend itself to the massive amounts of restructuring, releasing, and re-working some of us are doing during this eclipse season, so don’t be afraid. Just remember to add more time to your commute, make sure your car is in good working order, don’t sign any contracts unless you’ve checked it twice and KNOW what you’re getting into, and have some damn patience while some tech issues go down. Take this time to be quiet and reflect about what you need to do for you. You might have to make some tough decisions coming up and you’re going to need all the support you deserve, so get an idea of what you need when it comes time to take action.
So how can we use the energy of this week to help us? My advice is this: What issues from the past (old attitudes, habits, or perceptions; the unconscious crap) are keeping you stuck, and how can you finally release these outworn ideas and actions? How can you overcome fear of rejection, accept your uniqueness, and allow yourself to shine? Where in your life are you rebelling without a cause (saying no to just say no or because you don’t want to face something), and how can you stop that bullshit so you can deal with your emotional/insecurity issues? Added bonus this week: look for the root cause or where these behaviors started. If you can find the roots, you can weed them out and replant something that better suits you. This week, release your baggage and refocus on your goals. This eclipse season will go so much smoother if you do ❤
Think about drawing down the moon this week. The full moon is a time when relationships of all kinds are highlighted, including the one with yourself. It’s also a time when projects started at the last new moon can be harvested or completed. Take stock right now of any imbalances in your partnerships and wrap up projects that need to move on to the next level. You can also set out a bowl of water at this full moon to soak up all the energy. You can use it later to scry in or use the water to nourish yourself with. If you like to do incantations, prayer or mediation at the full moon, this will add some pep to your step. I like this Pagan/Wiccan incantation I found that says, “Mother Goddess, lend me your light. Give me your power on this faithful night. I invoke you into my being and soul. Fill up my vessel, make me feel whole. I stand before you in awe and in love. I cherish your gifts you send from above. I ask you tonight to show unto me. My mother, my Goddess, So Mote It Be.” Feel free to change this in any way you like or to make it your own, any way you see fit. Make sure to face the full moon and out stretch your arms so you can take everything in. Enjoy this powerful energy!
Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two, or all three cards–pick what you’re drawn to). The stone you see in the picture is back tourmaline. Ancient magicians relied upon Black Tourmaline, known as Schorl, to protect them from earth demons as they cast their spells. Today this stone is still revered as a premier talisman of protection, a psychic shield deflecting and dispelling negative energies, entities, or destructive forces. It guards against radiation and environmental pollutants, and is highly useful in purifying and neutralizing one’s own negative thoughts and internal conflicts, and turning them into positive, usable energy. Black Tourmaline is also a powerful grounding stone, electrical in nature, providing a connection between Earth and the human spirit. Its supportive energy aligns the energy centers of the body and channels healing light throughout the system. It promotes a sense of power and self-confidence, allowing for a clearer, more objective view of the world. It is empowering to those who must live or work in challenging environments or when facing difficult circumstances. If you’d like to lean more about this stone, please go here.
