“Extremes are easy. Strive for balance.” – Colin Wright

We have a new moon coming up on this Friday the 30th. If you’ve been hiding away under all the blankets you own, hoping that all the fear and war mongering, eclipses and mercury retrograde would pass you by, it’s safe to finally emerge from your cave and start your new day.

This new moon is going to be in the sign of Libra, and since we’re in Libra season, all the themes we discussed last week will be at play here again (if you’d like to brush up on what we covered last week, please go here). Among many other things, Libra also rules relationships with others and it seems to be a highlight this week, so pay attention to how you interact, making sure there’s balance there in what you’re giving and receiving. I feel like a lot of us are being called to stop sacrificing ourselves for another, or to stop giving up our intuitive and creative energies for another person (or persons). It’s been a re-occurring theme in many of my readings lately and something we should all really be thinking about. It’s especially not OK if you’re asking someone else to do this for you, so please be conscious of what you’re asking for from other people and from yourself. So how can we use this energy to the best of our abilities? My advice is this: Look to see where you can bring balance or equilibrium to your most important relationships and commit to goals in your life that support the higher themes of Libra—balance, peace, and order. The new moon is typically a time of new beginnings, so look in your life where you can you start anew and remember that even small changes will tip things in your favor. This week, throw off the blankets you’ve been hiding under and ring in your new day with a commitment to re-balancing your relationships and goals—triple points and major movement forward if you focus your energy into realistic expectations ❤

New Moon Meditation

Consider doing an invocation, prayer or mediation on the night of the 30th to help you break free from old habits or to help you get clear on your new way of living. Feel free to use this invocation or make up your own. I like to write down what I’m trying to work towards and keep it in a place I can see it everyday. At the full moon, I’ll check off what I’ve accomplished towards my goals and reassess what working and what’s not.

Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one tow, or all three cards–pick what you’re drawn to). The stones you see in the picture above are black tourmaline. Black Tourmaline is a protective stone which repels and blocks negative energies and psychic attack. Black Tourmaline also aids in the removal of negative energies within a person or a space. Black Tourmaline will cleanse, purify, and transform dense energy into a lighter vibration. A popular metaphysical stone, Black Tourmaline is also great for grounding.  It balances, harmonizes, and protects all of the Chakras. Use Black Tourmaline to protect against electromagnetic “smog” (i.e. cell phones, computers, etc), radiation, noise sensitivity and other such disturbances. Black Tourmaline can be used as an aid to remove fear and boost self-confidence. Black Tourmaline has a calming effect when needed, grounding flighty or scattered energies into the earth. Those who face challenges from negativity, frequent worrying, and/or OCD can work with Black Tourmaline to help heal these issues. Carry a piece of Black Tourmaline in your pocket to increase physical vitality throughout your day.  Meditation with Black Tourmaline can enhance the integration of insights and visions into one’s daily life. Physically, Black Tourmaline helps to strengthen the immune system, balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain, and detoxify the body. Black Tourmaline is very helpful when dealing with illnesses of the lungs such as bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia and Pleurisy. Black Tourmaline is a must for any medicine bag and is great for body layout. If you’d like to learn more about this stone, please go here.

If you chose card #1: Your message this week is about the Seven of Crystals. Your card goes on to say that the Seven of Crystals indicates a new perspective of your life goals. It could be, that you feel as though you have worked very hard but are still in the process of reaping the rewards. Now is not the time to give up! If you’re feeling stuck or idle at the moment, take some time to rest and reevaluate your next steps. Perhaps you’ve learned more than you thought possible along the way and have shifted your priorities unexpectedly. It can simply be a matter of gaining a new perspective and trusting your instincts, mind, body, and spirit. Look at your life, and think of all that you have accomplished and all that you are grateful for. This phase is simply a pause in your journey. Additional Meanings: Anticipation • Contemplation • Visions • Intuition • Meditation • Spiritual truth.

If you chose card #2: Your message this week is about the Tower. Your card goes on to say that the Tower indicates a period of complete or sudden change. You may experience a sense of insecurity or loss, as if your world has been flipped upside down. This can also denote situations in which the mind, body, and spirit are not working in harmony due to passive or unhealthy life choices. Rigid thinking, isolation, or ignoring the challenges along the way will inevitably reach a breaking point. This could mean a reevaluation of old patterns or systems of belief, leading to fresh perspectives that are transformational and positive in the long run. The Tower may also indicate a breakthrough in consciousness, which allows you to recognize your own spiritual ascension through purging the unnecessary burdens in your life. What is the greater lesson to be learned? Know that for every difficult situation we face, we are forced to grow from experience. Liberation comes from letting go and moving forward, and sometimes to do this we have to hit a low point. Without the dark, there is no light. Questions to ask yourself right now: Am I ready to face my own feelings through the stress and Chaos? What have I learned from this experience? How will I cope with these energies? Additional Meanings: Loss of stability • Abandoning old relationships • Transformation • Moving into the unknown • Inevitable changes • Upheaval • Liberation • New Beginnings.

If you chose card #3: Your message this week is about the Hierophant. Your card goes on to say that the Hierophant indicates a wonderful time for you to explore new things, meet new people, or gain new insights and spiritual knowledge. This may also signify someone who has the potential to shift the course of your life path, in order to bring enlightenment, wisdom, and truth. Do not limit yourself–exploration is an important part of self-discovery. This may also mean pursuing new avenues of education or learning through formal training. They Hierophant may also suggest a need to connect with a unified consciousness. It could be spiritual in nature, or within the conventions of a group or organization. If you are searching for greater meaning at this time, think about what it is you would like to learn or change in your life. What activities can you explore that connect with your own spirituality? Questions to ask yourself right now: How do I celebrate my spiritual self? What do I have yet to explore? What brings me joy, peace, and happiness? Additional Meanings: Council • Teacher • Advice • Spiritual wisdom • Guidance • Mentorship • Knowledge • Education • Unity.

My hope for you this week is that you’re ready to come out of hiding and rejoin us here on planet crazy. Yes, the world still may feel as though it’s falling a part and that there’s more issues than we could ever begin to fix all by ourselves, but even small steps towards bringing more peace into the equation will help, so please know that your efforts count. This is where the influence of Libra comes in, so focus all that energy you have saved up into relationships and goals that are realistic and that support balance, peace, and order in your life. When in doubt: stay centered and focused on where your peace exists or how you can bring peace into a situation without sacrificing yourself.

This is your week! Make it an amazing one 🙂
