18 Jan The week ahead: January 18th through January 24th:

I don’t know about you guys, but last week was an incredibly difficult time for me. David Bowie passed away and Alan Rickman–both heroes of mine–and my grandmother survived a pulmonary embolism. That’s right, I said survived. I’m happy to know I come from hearty stock. I should be rejoicing on the last bit there, but my grandmother also has dementia and it’s pretty bad. I haven’t seen my grandmother in a while now, and to be honest, I was angry with her. If you’ve been following me, you know that I’ve been working on healing the abuse from my past and coming to terms with what occurred so I can move forward (aren’t we all on some level?). I was angry with my grandmother because I felt if she had treated my mother with more love and respect, maybe the same would have been shown to me. Recently I realized that being angry at her doesn’t do any good (not to mention that I missed her), and it doesn’t excuse my own mother from her actions. It turns out my realization came too late when I received the call she was in the hospital. I was planning on taking her out for lunch and spending time with her again, but dementia had other plans. When I went to go see her on Saturday, she had no idea who I was. I felt my insides cave in as she told me she had no idea who I could be. I smiled back at her and told her it was ok and re-introduced myself to a woman who I loved with all my heart and felt I had a deep bond of love with. I was warned beforehand that she was a little out of it, but nothing prepared me for not being recognized at all—I think on some level I expected our bond to be so powerful that it would move right past her dementia. When I left her, I cried my eyes out. My heart was and is broken and if I hadn’t previously been so angry with her, I could have spent more time with her before the embolism happened, possibly mitigating the utter devestation I feel now. I don’t regret the time I spent away—I needed it to clear my head and heart and find strength in me to heal, but I do regret holding on to the anger for so long and letting it hold me back from connecting with a woman I truly love. I realize now how anger can make things worse. I realize now how anger blocks you from the whole truth about someone or yourself. I realize now how much I will miss my grandmother calling me Sarah-Belle and lighting up when she sees my face, and no amount of self-righteous anger was worth losing this. Please Lovelies, take it from me—don’t allow your anger to block you and hold you back from seeing the whole picture; a person is not all good or all bad, we are all somewhere in between. I still could have worked through my pain and talked with her on the phone or written her letters…I still could have done a lot of things differently with her and I learned my lesson in the most painful way possible. I won’t be able to apologize to her now for my absence. I won’t be able to connect with her like I so desperately want to and it’s because I allowed anger to take over. Through this pain, my grief has become one of my greatest teachers. I see how I can do better, and I will. <3
Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two or all three cards–pick what you’re drawn to). The stone you see in the picture above is Danburite. One of the highest vibration minerals currently found, Danburite “connects the heart of the mind with the mind of the heart”. Highly spiritual and sought after for its metaphysical properties, Danburite is a powerful Heart Chakra stone, relieving emotional pain and increasing acceptance of one’s self and of others. Danburite will help you to “let your light shine”. The pure love energy of Danburite brings serenity and peace. Gentle yet powerful, Danburite also works with the Third Eye and Crown Chakras. Danburite stimulates the Higher Crown Chakras, connecting the Heart to these Higher Chakras, and aids in communication with Angels and Guides. Danburite is a good stone to have around during times of extreme change, and eases the transition of those leaving the physical human form. Danburite can help heal old deep wounds, as well as clear past Karma. If you’d like to learn more about this stone, please go here.

If you chose card #1: Your message this week is to spend time with flowers and flower essences to increase your personal healing power. Your card goes on to say that this card signifies that you will benefit from the balancing and healing properties of flowers. Spend time in a garden or even at a florist shop, and surround your home with fresh flowers. As you breathe in the fragrances, feel their magical healing abilities bathing every cell of your body. The fairies also suggest that you buy a bottle or two of pure flower essences, which are available at most health food stores. Use rose oil to open your heart to love, for instance, or sprinkle lavender oil on your pillows and sheets to calm your nerves. Additional Meanings: Use flower essences in your healing work with others • Study aromatherapy • Make sachets or dried-lavender eye pillows • Plant a flower garden • Send a loved one some flowers.

If you chose card #2: Your message this week is that your life purpose involves teaching others about healing and spirituality. Your card goes on to say that you drew this card because you’ve asked about your life purpose and career direction. This card indicates that you’re a born teacher who gives advice and information to strangers, friends, and family members. Your natural counseling and teaching abilities will serve you well in a professional way. You may start out on a part time basis and build up to a full time career. If you need additional skills training, your inner guidance will direct you. Ask the fairies to help you with this training (including paying for it!), and they’ll open doors for you in many ways. Additional Meanings: Investigate a career as a counselor or psychologist • Write articles or books and submit them to publishers • A message about a spiritual teacher validates your intuition • Give a workshop • Start charging money for your counseling or healing sessions.

If you chose card #3: Your message this week is that what you’re asking for is coming about. Have patience, as there are unseen factors that need to occur first. Your card goes on to say that the fairies manifest desires instantly. Whatever they think about occurs immediately, so they understand why you may feel impatient when your prayers aren’t answered right away. This card is reassuring you that your desires are being worked on behind the scenes. Although you may not perceive those results at present, trust that things are moving in the right direction. You’ll soon see and experience your desired outcome. Additional Meanings: Heaven has heard you and is working on your prayers • What you’re asking for is nearly at hand • You’ll receive the money you need • Keep the faith, stay positive, and continue affirming and praying • Your relationship with your soul mate will soon manifest • Wait before making a move on the topic you’re asking about.

My hope for you this week is that you see everyone (including yourself) for all that you are. We are comprised of good and bad, light and dark, absolute beauty and murky funk. As a whole person, we honor who we are are and in turn, can see others for all they are too. I hope you realize too that through your pain, you can still connect and heal. Be open this week and see the whole picture of everyone you come in contact with. I promise it will forever change the way you do everything.
This is your week! Make it an amazing one <3
