The week ahead: July 20th through July 26th of 2020:

I don’t even know where to begin today, lovelies. The state of affairs in the US continues to become more sinister as the days and the weeks pass along. Currently, in Portland, the city I live in, Homeland security was sent in to quell the peaceful protesters and one of the many terrifying things they’re doing is pulling up in unmarked vans and snatching people off the street with no warning and no due process. They’re throwing bags over their heads and taking them to undisclosed locations for “questioning.” This should absolutely terrify you. Our governor even asked the head of homeland security to remove the federal law officers, to which they refused, said they’re on a mission and essentially gave her middle fingers.

There’s something bigger at play with the US government and it looks like they’re aiming to do in other liberal cities what they’re doing here in Portland, but in the meantime and during  the last few days of Cancer season (Leo season starts on the 22nd), our families, our people and places we call home, and our close knit communities will be vitally important.  So will our self care, so making sure we’ve been taken care of, our needs met and our energy restored will go miles, especially for what shows up next in the US.

We also have a new moon in the sign of Cancer (the second new moon in the sign of Cancer in a row, which isn’t common) today, reinforcing the themes of Cancer season and closing out eclipse season, too. Tonight would be a good time to focus on or be cognizant of what makes you feel safe and secure, emotionally. It’s also good to be aware of what isn’t working so you can release it, making room for your people, places and situations you truly belong to. With this being the second new moon, I feel like there’s something here around getting a second chance with those themes, seeing things in a new light, or even doubling up on family (think getting engaged, being pregnant or giving birth…), just to name a few things. Be present in the moment so you can make good choices, embrace who and what shows up for you in a healthy way, and take care of yourself so you can handle emotionally whatever comes your way💖

So how can we work with the energy of this week? My advice is this: If you’re looking for a way to help with the Portland situation right now, please consider signing this petition for the federal law officers to be removed from Portland, by clicking on this link. Also, over the next couple of days would be a perfect time to take cleansing baths, scry in water, ground in water, or work with water in some way to help you connect more deeply with yourself and your intuition. Any self care you do during this time should help boost your energy levels, too.

Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two, or all three cards–choose what you’re drawn to). The top card is the overarching theme for everyone and it’s something to keep in mind or to remember, no matter what energy shows up for you as the week goes on. The stone you see in the picture above is Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli is a crystal of truth in all aspects. It reveals inner truth, and promotes self-awareness and the acceptance of that knowledge. It provides for the relief of things that may have been suppressed and allows for them to surface, helping to diminish dis-ease or repressed anger, and allows for self-expression without holding back or compromising. Lapis encourages dignity in friendship and social ability. It encourages the qualities of honesty, compassion and uprightness when dealing with others. It provides an awareness of one’s motivations and beliefs, and gives a clearer perspective of one’s whole life. It reveals not only one’s limitations, but the opportunities for growth and to utilize one’s gifts and abilities. If you’d like to learn more about this stone, please go here.

Overarching theme: The Tower: The Tower marks those unexpected devastations that corrode our spirit or sense of security; when we feel crushed under the weight of circumstance, or experienced a traumatic event that cast a shadow on our life. It can also point to situations in which the mind, body and spirit are not working in harmony due to passive or unhealthy choices. From the depths, this key may lead to a breakthrough in consciousness, allowing us to free ourselves from the necessary burdens or energies which no longer serve. What is the greater lesson to be learned? Know that for every difficult situation we face, we are forced to grow from experience. Liberation comes from letting go and rising up, and sometimes to do this, we have to hit a low point. Without the darkness, there is no light. Questions to ask yourself this week: How can this shadow be a catalyst for expansion? How have I transformed the toxicity in my life? Additional Meanings: Upheaval • Transformation • Abandonment • Liberation.

If you chose card #1: Your message this week is about the Six of Pentacles reversed. Your card goes on to say that there is an imbalance of energies. If you are being generous with others in some way, be careful that you are not being taken advantage of. This key may also indicate a need to maintain a sense of selflessness in your generosity. Are there hidden motives behind your actions, or are you working from a place of love? If this card pertains to relationships, it could be that there is an imbalance of energy between two people: is someone giving more than the other? Questions to ask yourself right now. Am I ready to share as much as I am ready to receive? How can I open my heart and show gratitude? Your mantra: I rest within the cycles of karma. I value the love that other share with me. Additional Meanings: Generosity • Advancements • Opportunity • Growth.

If you chose card #2: Your message this week is about the Two of Wands. Your card goes on to say that there is an adventurous undercurrent that runs through this card, as a playful, passionate spark that leads us along our path. When we take the time to hear it’s call, and mobilize our actions towards specific goals that chime with our heart and soul, the journey becomes more luminous and filled with synchronicity. As we cross these thresholds into new, exciting places, we can look back on our choices and see a brilliant sense of completion. We know where we have been, and where we would like to go. We have refined our sense of living and can decide how to divide our energies into a more synergistic way of life. This is the ultimate balance–when mind, body, and spirit work together harmoniously to help us travel forward. Questions to ask yourself right now: How am I balancing my energies at this time? How can I broaden my horizons and seek adventure? Your mantra: I travel where my soul wants to take me. I shipped my gaze beyond the horizon. Additional Meanings: Choice • Direction • Facing fears • Activation point.

If you chose card #3: Your message this week is about the Seven of Wands. Your card goes on to say that the Seven of Wands moves into the momentum of your power once you have reached a consistent plateau of success. This is a positive place to work from and comes with many blessings and gifts, but once you are comfortable here, how are the energies around you going to stir and adapt? It could be that you will receive backlash or competition from others, as your accomplishments have attracted attention, and people will want what you have. As with any ripple effect you create in this world, there may be both positive and negative reactions–as the universe will always express its own balance and symmetry. Do not lose hope or confidence now. You need not worry about the views of other people. Stay strong. Stay true, and remember how you got here. This experience will only make you more resilient in the end. Questions to ask yourself right now: How can I hold my strength and composure? What have I learned, after all of my highs and lows? Your mantra: I rise to a higher state of enlightenment. I stand strong and rooted in my energies. Additional Meanings: Competition • Gain • Success • Strength • Defiance.

This is your week! Make it an amazing one 😊
