21 Jul The week ahead: July 20th through July 26th of 2020:

I don’t even know where to begin today, lovelies. The state of affairs in the US continues to become more sinister as the days and the weeks pass along. Currently, in Portland, the city I live in, Homeland security was sent in to quell the peaceful protesters and one of the many terrifying things they’re doing is pulling up in unmarked vans and snatching people off the street with no warning and no due process. They’re throwing bags over their heads and taking them to undisclosed locations for “questioning.” This should absolutely terrify you. Our governor even asked the head of homeland security to remove the federal law officers, to which they refused, said they’re on a mission and essentially gave her middle fingers.
There’s something bigger at play with the US government and it looks like they’re aiming to do in other liberal cities what they’re doing here in Portland, but in the meantime and during the last few days of Cancer season (Leo season starts on the 22nd), our families, our people and places we call home, and our close knit communities will be vitally important. So will our self care, so making sure we’ve been taken care of, our needs met and our energy restored will go miles, especially for what shows up next in the US.
We also have a new moon in the sign of Cancer (the second new moon in the sign of Cancer in a row, which isn’t common) today, reinforcing the themes of Cancer season and closing out eclipse season, too. Tonight would be a good time to focus on or be cognizant of what makes you feel safe and secure, emotionally. It’s also good to be aware of what isn’t working so you can release it, making room for your people, places and situations you truly belong to. With this being the second new moon, I feel like there’s something here around getting a second chance with those themes, seeing things in a new light, or even doubling up on family (think getting engaged, being pregnant or giving birth…), just to name a few things. Be present in the moment so you can make good choices, embrace who and what shows up for you in a healthy way, and take care of yourself so you can handle emotionally whatever comes your way💖
So how can we work with the energy of this week? My advice is this: If you’re looking for a way to help with the Portland situation right now, please consider signing this petition for the federal law officers to be removed from Portland, by clicking on this link. Also, over the next couple of days would be a perfect time to take cleansing baths, scry in water, ground in water, or work with water in some way to help you connect more deeply with yourself and your intuition. Any self care you do during this time should help boost your energy levels, too.
Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two, or all three cards–choose what you’re drawn to). The top card is the overarching theme for everyone and it’s something to keep in mind or to remember, no matter what energy shows up for you as the week goes on. The stone you see in the picture above is Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli is a crystal of truth in all aspects. It reveals inner truth, and promotes self-awareness and the acceptance of that knowledge. It provides for the relief of things that may have been suppressed and allows for them to surface, helping to diminish dis-ease or repressed anger, and allows for self-expression without holding back or compromising. Lapis encourages dignity in friendship and social ability. It encourages the qualities of honesty, compassion and uprightness when dealing with others. It provides an awareness of one’s motivations and beliefs, and gives a clearer perspective of one’s whole life. It reveals not only one’s limitations, but the opportunities for growth and to utilize one’s gifts and abilities. If you’d like to learn more about this stone, please go here.

Overarching theme: The Tower: The Tower marks those unexpected devastations that corrode our spirit or sense of security; when we feel crushed under the weight of circumstance, or experienced a traumatic event that cast a shadow on our life. It can also point to situations in which the mind, body and spirit are not working in harmony due to passive or unhealthy choices. From the depths, this key may lead to a breakthrough in consciousness, allowing us to free ourselves from the necessary burdens or energies which no longer serve. What is the greater lesson to be learned? Know that for every difficult situation we face, we are forced to grow from experience. Liberation comes from letting go and rising up, and sometimes to do this, we have to hit a low point. Without the darkness, there is no light. Questions to ask yourself this week: How can this shadow be a catalyst for expansion? How have I transformed the toxicity in my life? Additional Meanings: Upheaval • Transformation • Abandonment • Liberation.
