The week ahead: October 28th through November 3rd of 2019:

How are you guys doing after the new moon yesterday in Scorpio? Honestly, Scorpio can very intense and whatever showed up for you may have been overwhelming at the least. Shadowy secrets, power and control plays, and issues involving money and/or sex could have been themes dominating last week into the weekend, but I’d like to be clear that this isn’t the entirety of what Scorpio is all about. Every sign has negative and positive traits, and for a person who isn’t in tune with themselves and not facing their stuff, they have a higher probability of embodying the lower octave of any sign present.

This certainly isn’t to say that those of us who have been working diligently on our shadow side don’t have moments of turdom, but I wanted to point out that if you encountered these harsher aspects with another person, it’s to remind you how powerful our shadow side can be if we don’t face it–let the offender serve as a reminder to take care of yourself and do your inner work. I’ve found that the people who trigger you the most can also be your greatest teacher and mirror.

And speaking of being triggered, Mercury goes retrograde this week and right on Halloween/Samhain, also in the sign of Scorpio. Intensity will still abound, including communication snafu’s, car/travel issues, ex’s showing up, and haywire electronics. It’s also a great time to get a second opinion, try something over again, re-write, re-do, restructure, or rebirth anything that needs it, or reconnect with old friends. It’s gonna be a mixed bag as always, but just keep in mind that anytime a planet goes retrograde, it’s just offering us a moment to look inside and see what needs tweaked for the better.

So how can we work with the energy of this week? My advice is this: Halloween and October in it’s entirety is a great time to work with your ancestors. What loved ones that passed away can help with any specific issues you’re going through right now? What ancestors in your family tree can you call upon that you’d like to know more about? I’ve found through my own ancestor work that the more we call on our loved ones in Spirit, the closer we become, the more we feel them and are aware of their presence, and miracles and synchronicities abound. The veil has been thinning all month, but will be at it’s thinnest on Thursday at Halloween/Samhain; if you can’t do anything before then, maybe make some time on Thursday to set up a little alter space or table strewn with pictures of your loved ones and ancestors you’d like to work with, and things they loved or reminds you of them. When you go to light a candle, dedicate the energy of the light to your ancestor and thank them for always being there for you, whether or not you were aware. This week, work with this intensity of Scorpio season and call on your loved ones in Spirit to help.

Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two, or all three cards–choose what you’re drawn to). The top card is the overarching theme for everyone and it’s something to keep in mind or to remember, no matter what energy shows up for you as the week goes on. The stone you see in the picture above is black tourmaline. Black Tourmaline is a protective stone which repels and blocks negative energies and psychic attack.  Black Tourmaline also aids in the removal of negative energies within a person or a space.  Black Tourmaline will cleanse, purify, and transform dense energy into a lighter vibration. A popular metaphysical stone, Black Tourmaline is also great for grounding.  It balances, harmonizes, and protects all of the Chakras.  Use Black Tourmaline to protect against electromagnetic “smog” (i.e. cell phones, computers, etc), radiation, noise sensitivity and other such disturbances.  Black Tourmaline can be used as an aid to remove fear and boost self-confidence. Black Tourmaline has a calming effect when needed, grounding flighty or scattered energies into the earth.  Those who face challenges from negativity, frequent worrying, and/or OCD can work with Black Tourmaline to help heal these issues.  Carry a piece of Black Tourmaline in your pocket to increase physical vitality throughout your day.  Meditation with Black Tourmaline can enhance the integration of insights and visions into one’s daily life. Physically, Black Tourmaline helps to strengthen the immune system, balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain, and detoxify the body.  Black Tourmaline is very helpful when dealing with illnesses of the lungs such as bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia and Pleurisy.  Black Tourmaline is a must for any medicine bag and is great for body layouts. Overarching theme: The Moon: As one of the dreamiest, most mysterious cards of the Tarot, The Moon invites us to explore the depths of our subconscious and the sacred landscapes of our imagination. Although typically described as the key of disillusionment, it is not without its silver linings. These can indicate the powerful sparks of inspiration that feed invention, creativity, and intuitive wisdom which connect us to a much deeper place of spirit. Since The Moon also reveals the watery undercurrent of our shadow thoughts and feelings, it embodies the recesses of our minds, which we tend to keep hidden from others, as well as the deeper insecurities that plague our emotions. Woven throughout the potent energy of the moon is pure magick. If we learn to harness its wisdom without letting the mental labyrinth take over, we may begin to co-create and alchemize from the seeds of our thoughts. Questions to ask yourself this week: How can I work with my shadow self? What are my deepest dreams and insights sharing? Additional Meanings: Mystery • Intuition • Imagination • Shadow • Dreams.

If you chose card #1: Your message this week is about the Two of Swords. Your card goes on to say that if you find yourself at crossroads, there may be a need to create a sense of balance between two or more opposing energies in your life. Generally when this card shows up, we are experiencing some sort of difficulty in making a concrete plan or decision about something. Perhaps we feel numb, or are ignorant to the entirety of the situation and cannot see what is unraveling before us. It is time to acknowledge the situation head-on, so that you may process what you have been avoiding. Do not fear the potential outcomes, as fear will only hold you back from finding a positive solution. Summon the courage to trust in yourself, and your path will become clear. Once you’re able to make a choice, your confidence and strength will soar to new heights. Questions to ask yourself right now: How can I make a decision with my best intentions? Are there any ways to help clarify the situation more? Your mantra: I recognize the smaller pieces of this larger puzzle. I connect my heart with my own logic. Additional Meanings: Indecision • Equilibrium • Self-doubt • Denial • Choices.

If you chose card #2: Your message this week is about The Fool. Your card goes on to say that The Fool is a sacred key that helps expand your horizons, and seeking out new adventures or spontaneous experiences. Your unique rite of passage has no chart of course. No trajectory. Instead, it defines a whole new prologue waiting to be written. Oftentimes, this kind of movement also requires bravery, encouraging you to have faith in your deepest instincts. If there are voices that discourage you from embarking on this path, connect back to your inner stillness, your heart, and the calling of your soul. This is not their story, it’s solely belongs to you. Allow for new opportunities to take flight within this journey! Questions to ask yourself right now: Am I ready to take this quantum leap? What new opportunities are presenting in my life? Additional Meanings: Adventure • Impulse • Movement • Inner child • Genesis.

If you chose card #3: Your message this week is about the Queen of Swords. Your card goes on to say that the Queen of Swords is able to see through illusion and deception, speaking their truth at any given time. Highly perceptive, analytical and straightforward, they embody a deep maturity that is always becoming more refined, gleaning their wisdom through trial and error. Not a particularly emotional or sensitive type, this queen connects deeply through their own sharp intellectualism with others. When they are on your side, they are extremely loyal and supportive, despite their apparent coldness, and are aware of the importance of your bonded connection. This card encourages us to think objectively while attuning to our own mental strength to make any decisions at this time, and to approach your challenges without emotional ties. Questions to ask yourself right now: How can I connect with my strength of discernment? How can I look at things objectively, with compassion? Your mantra: I see through all illusion and find truth. My mind and words are powerful allies. Additional Meanings: Independent • Perfectionist • Articulate • Impartial.

This is your week! Make it an amazing one 🙂
