12 Mar The week ahead: March 12th through March 18th of 2018:
•
Tech difficulties with the weekly video (thank mercury going retrograde next week for already causing havoc)! I’ll try to get this up asap!
•
We’re in the final week of Pisces season and as of the 21st (Spring Equinox is on the 20th, too), we’ll be moving into fiery, head strong Aries. If you’ve been digging this super dreamy, no boundaries, intuitive kinda time, soak it up; fire is coming, and nothing is sacred once it gets here.
But while we still have this week, it’s a beautiful time to inject some magic into any creative projects we’ve been working on, or to tap into that amazing intuition you have to find some guidance, easily. Pisces is the final sign on the astrological wheel, so not only this week are we bringing some emotional (Pisces is a water sign and rules emotions and intuition) things to a close or a head so we can work through it, but we’re also moving into a new cycle; not only because of Aries season coming next that represents the beginning of the zodiac, but also the new moon that always represents new beginnings.
So that new moon in the sign of Pisces on the 17th/18th is at the end of the week and my feeling already is that it’s a week in flux. Old shiz is moving out and we’re ready for the new. I think everyone is collectively sick and tired of whatever old bullshit has been playing on repeat for them emotionally and with the sun being out more and the temperature getting warm is most places, cabin fever is real and people want to start new chapters NOW. The insightful astrologer Annie Heese from cafeastrology.com says,
“The New Moon in Pisces is a good time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Fish. These include taking a leap of faith, accepting imperfections in ourselves and in others as a different kind of “perfection”, starting a project that requires imagination and visualization skills, consciously putting time aside for peaceful and rejuvenating activities, and sharing a dream with another. With this potent Pisces energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives.
This New Moon is especially creative and ambitious with its trine to Jupiter and (wide) sextile to Pluto. While we are likely to feel very inspired, and this New Moon can motivate us to take a leap of faith, we should watch for impatience and impulsive moves, since the lunation is also square to Mars, which is on the verge of changing signs and is thus especially vulnerable/volatile. Words can sting now, although they can also prompt a “turning over a new leaf” moment and fuel a new beginning. The Sun/Moon also form a semi-sextile to Uranus, and we can struggle a little with the idea of going our own way and being independent. While we want these things, it can be difficult to integrate these urges into our personalities or to act upon them consistently.”
The frustrating part of all this is that mercury goes retrograde on the 22nd, so it’s not exactly the most advantageous time to start a new project, but I say, if you’ve done all your research and you have all your ducks in a row, pursue your dreams no matter whats going on up in the sky. The timing is never going to be perfect, so you might as well do what you want.
We’ll talk more about this next week, but my feelings with mercury retrograde so close to the end of Pisces season, is really helping us to go back over or review all the information that came up during that time. It will be a perfect moment (in conjunction with Aries season) to integrate what we learned into our every day life so we can pioneer these new goals we have in mind. This week moving into mercury retrograde is really a breather before the real nitty gritty healing shows up, so I mean it when I tell you to soak up whatever last drops of dreaminess comes your way.
So how can we use the energy of this week to help us? My advice is this: Curiosity and being inventive are strengths; Where can you use some of this energy in your life or take the initiative to use it, especially around your relationships? What ugly, old wound has been coming up for you, and what steps are you now ready to take to bring yourself some peace? Is it time to challenge your idea of what “perfect” is or if “perfection” is really even attainable? Also too, would you hold yourself to the same standards you place on someone else? If not, time to re-evaluate what this means to you (bonus points for those who give “perfect” the middle finger, and choose to be happy instead). This week, put your foot down. If change is what you’re ready for, remember that it starts with you <3
Consider doing an invocation, prayer or mediation on the night of the 19th or 20th to help you break free from old habits or to help you get clear on your new way of living. Feel free to use this invocation or make up your own. I like to write down what I’m trying to work towards and keep it in a place I can see it everyday. At the full moon, I’ll check off what I’ve accomplished towards my goals and reassess what working and what’s not.
Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two, or all three cards–pick what you’re drawn to). The stone you see in the picture is ocean jasper. Like all Jaspers, Ocean Jasper alleviates stress and induces tranquility. Its cleansing effect eliminates negative energy and stabilizes the aura. It makes an ideal worry or rubbing stone for soothing the nerves and increasing one’s focus, and is a wonderful stone for banishing nightmares or harmful thoughts. A polished sphere of Ocean Jasper is particularly conducive for meditation, and is greatly enhanced by soft silver candlelight or moonlight. Use Ocean Jasper as a talisman of patience, for oneself as well as for others. It enkindles a gentle and gradual release of pent-up anger and clears emotional blockages. Orbicular Jaspers are “taking care of business stones” and encourage one to view each circular mark as a sign of a project or detail that needs to be addressed. They aid in the acceptance of responsibility and are particularly supportive of pursuits based on service to others. Ocean Jasper is a marvelous stone for healers and counselors to nurture themselves as they help others, and to be more empathetic to others’ emotional and mental needs while still remaining objective in their work. My hope for you this week is that you put an end to some cycle that’s been on repeat for you. This could be as simple as you not taking care of your needs, or as complex as stopping a generational issue that’s fallen in your lap to heal or contend with. However it shows up, don’t back down. The power is in your hands, and the time is now.
This is your week! Make it an amazing one 🙂
