This Cancer season has been bringing so much home for each of us. Gemini season brought us the information we needed to know and shed light on what we may have ignored, not only in our personal lives, but in the lives of the black community in the US as well. Gemini season offered us intellectual acknowledgement, but Cancer season brings the acknowledgment in an emotional way, driving home for us where we can no longer ignore or gloss over injustices personally or against our brothers and sisters in our minority communities. When we understand something on the emotional level, it opens the heart, it allows us to fully take in the information we know intellectually and understand it on a deeper level, allowing us to make real change–it allows for true connection.
Cancer season will also bring up for us the themes around home, family, ancestry, our roots, intuition, and mother, with an emphasis on the chest/breast area of the body. Don’t be surprised if memories from the past have been keeping you preoccupied; good or bad. With 5 planets still in retrograde, the past is a major part of what we’re contending with, as well as the ties that bind us to that space. How can you now face what haunts you? After facing what keeps coming up, how can you now regain your power, cut those ties, and nurture who you are in the present moment? Can you see how in going through all of this, it’s asking you to come home to yourself and possibly even become the person you needed so badly when you were younger? It’s interesting to note the comparison between what we’re all going through personally and on a wider scale, for us in the US.
To top all this off, we have our final full moon lunar eclipse this summer on the 5th in the sign of Capricorn. This also brings a close to the Capricorn/Cancer eclipses that started in the summer of 2018–can you see how far you’ve come since then? Capricorn is an earth sign and focused on structure, perseverance, ambition, effort and responsibility, to name a few things. When lunar eclipses show up, they represent a large door closing to the past, but also act as a full moon on steroids. This full moon lunar eclipse may be asking us where we are still adhering to old rules that don’t exist anymore. Were these rules and restrictions passed down from family? Does our ambition and our efforts still rely on now outworn structures that have crumbled in the past few months? How can you now create your own set of rules and restructure your life in a way that actually allows you to persevere, while spending more time with the people who are your family? What does success mean to you now? These are just some of things that have been coming up for me and I hope these questions help point you in the right direction, too. Just know that this doorway closing this week if final. We can’t go back to the way it was before, and thank Goddess for that. My hope is that we’re creating a new world that no longer supports corporate entities (Capricorn), but everyday families and people (Cancer), instead. It’s the way it should have always been, so may we awaken to the possibilities and our responsibility to make it so 💖
So how can we work with the energy of this week? My advice is this: At the full moon lunar eclipse, consider setting goals and priorities that actually vibe with who you are now. Write them down on a piece of paper and put them somewhere you can see them daily for inspiration, or consider planting it in the ground with your favorite plants to symbolize your goals growing as you water and tend to them. Also, my hope and what I’m seeing is that protests aren’t stopping anytime soon, so continue to educate yourself with the stories of the black community and in ways that you can support and uplift, as well. A great page I was sent for some resources on how to continue to support black owned business is here https://www.finimpact.com/blacklivesmatter-support-black-owned-small-businesses/. Any little bit helps! Take action and support our black community!
Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two, or all three cards–choose what you’re drawn to). The top card is the overarching theme for everyone and it’s something to keep in mind or to remember, no matter what energy shows up for you as the week goes on. The stone you see in the picture above is Rose Quartz. Rose Quartz is a mothering crystal, inspiring nurturing of the self if one has lost their own mother. It promotes bonding and is a good stone to place on the stomach during pregnancy, and to take to the hospital to be near the baby during birth. It is also soothing in the days to follow. Placing baby milk or food within a circle of Rose Quartz for a few minutes helps ease colic or feeding difficulties. To call in love or strengthen a romantic relationship, place pink roses and twin Rose Quartz hearts on a private love altar and light pink candles, or enclose a photo of yourself and a lover within a heart shape of tiny Rose Quartz crystals. Rose Quartz may also be placed by the bed or in the relationship corner of the home to restore trust and harmony, and encourage unconditional love. As a stone of love, tenderness and sensuality, Rose Quartz is a powerful aphrodisiac, stimulating sensual imagination. Rose Quartz is a wonderful sleep crystal for adults and children, providing beautiful dreams as well as preventing nightmares or night terrors. It also helps children to not be afraid of the dark. Rose Quartz is a calming and reassuring crystal, excellent for use in trauma or crisis, including the emotional upheaval of mid-life crisis. It strengthens empathy, sensitivity, and aids in the acceptance of necessary change. It is also an excellent stone for comforting grief. A large piece of unpolished Rose Quartz in the workplace provides ongoing protection against intrusion and gossip. It is also a professional support stone for beauty consultants.
