07 Apr The week ahead: April 6th through April 12th of 2020:

We have a full super moon (just means it’s closer to earth, so everything feels a little more intense) in the sign of Libra on the 7th. Usually a Libra moon has us being peacekeepers, helping to find the balance in whatever situation we’re in; we want a peaceful, calm, harmonious home, but in Aries season, that may not be totally possible if the individual is ignored.
In a negative aspect, as we’ve seen in the news, certain people hoarded items that everyone needs without thought of anyone else. During Aries season we’ll notice that people may become more self centered and worry about ME vs WE. This self centered mentality only seems to rear its ugly head when fear is involved and has us reacting in unconscious ways, so it’s important to take stock of what we’re doing if we start to lean into thoughts and actions that don’t take anyone else into account.
In a positive aspect, we’re all forced to be home during this pandemic and essentially face ourselves. So going inward and working on our shit, or facing what we’ve been running from, or who we are and what we want, is actually an act of self love and self care. The end result is hopefully a more integrated, conscious person that operates from a place of self awareness.
Being focused on self isn’t always a bad thing, as long as we’re present with the process and we can be brave in our vulnerability.
So while we’re facing these personal insights, this Libra moon will be asking us to focus more on the WE part vs ME, especially in our relationships. Libra likes to work as a unit, again looking for harmony and balance; peace. This is an air sign, so communication is essential to them, and extra points if you’re diplomatic about it.
Maybe the balance here is to be fair and kind with each other around our wants, but to not forget what we each individually need–it almost feels like a tug of war, but with real, honest communication about our sole rights, the similarities that bubble to the top are an amazing starting point to build a powerful team that honors the individual, while solidifying the group💖
So how can we use the energy of this week to help us? My advice is this: Let’s use the elements of both the full moon and Aries season by doing some candle magic. This would be a good time to do love spells for romantic love, platonic love, just everybody getting along love, or even self love. If you’re able to, get a pink or white candle, some rose quartz, incense, mortar and pestle or bowl, and some essential oil and anoint yourself and the candle with either lavender, patchouli, rose, or orange blossom (or do a mixture of what feels good to you). To cleanse and clear the candle to be set with my own intentions, I’ll take the candle in my non-dominant hand and with my dominant hand, knock on it twice, seeing any leftover energy leaving it. You can also sage it, or wipe it down with a cloth and holy water. Then, to attract what you want to you, roll the candle on it’s side 3 times towards you while speaking your intentions or saying a prayer. If sending the energy outwards, like to another person, roll it away from you 3 times, speaking your intentions or saying a prayer. Now you’ll want to take the oils you chose and add just a drop of each to a couple drops of olive oil (a little bit goes a long way here). Each time you add a drop, set your intentions again. You can either poke holes in the top of your candle, or you can smear the mixture all over the candle, but you’ll only need a little of the mixture and you want to save some for yourself. If you’re feeling extra spicy, feel free to add dried herbs– bay leaves for success and rose petals for love would be great additions. Now pray over the candle and set your intentions about what you’d like while envisioning it, the best you can. Once done, take your incense and “feed” the candle and your intentions by covering it in the incense. Now you can add your rose quartz around your candle in a grid for extra oomph. Now you’re ready to light it! You’re going to want to let this burn all the way down, so you can either let it burn the whole time, or relight it every day. Just make sure to be safe and put something under the candle or on a heat resistant surface. With your remaining oil mixture, you can dab some to wrists and pressure points each day the candle burns, reminding yourself of your intentions and I feel, strengthening the power of your spell. This is my version of spell work, but I learned most of what I know here from @oregonwoodwitch on Instagram. Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two, or all three cards–choose what you’re drawn to). The top card is the overarching theme for everyone and it’s something to keep in mind or to remember, no matter what energy shows up for you as the week goes on. The stone you see in the picture above is rose quartz. Rose Quartz is a mothering crystal, inspiring nurturing of the self if one has lost their own mother. It promotes bonding and is a good stone to place on the stomach during pregnancy, and to take to the hospital to be near the baby during birth. It is also soothing in the days to follow. Placing baby milk or food within a circle of Rose Quartz for a few minutes helps ease colic or feeding difficulties. To call in love or strengthen a romantic relationship, place pink roses and twin Rose Quartz hearts on a private love altar and light pink candles, or enclose a photo of yourself and a lover within a heart shape of tiny Rose Quartz crystals. Rose Quartz may also be placed by the bed or in the relationship corner of the home to restore trust and harmony, and encourage unconditional love. As a stone of love, tenderness and sensuality, Rose Quartz is a powerful aphrodisiac, stimulating sensual imagination. Rose Quartz is a wonderful sleep crystal for adults and children, providing beautiful dreams as well as preventing nightmares or night terrors. It also helps children to not be afraid of the dark. Rose Quartz is a calming and reassuring crystal, excellent for use in trauma or crisis, including the emotional upheaval of mid-life crisis. It strengthens empathy, sensitivity, and aids in the acceptance of necessary change. It is also an excellent stone for comforting grief. A large piece of unpolished Rose Quartz in the workplace provides ongoing protection against intrusion and gossip. It is also a professional support stone for beauty consultants. Overarching theme: Justice: Justice is a key that embodies the internal, intuitive compass that resides within us all. As a universal symbol for a greater moral code, this card asks us to put aside our emotions and attachments, allowing us to view the situation with impartiality, on a larger scale. This may also point to an energy that mediates between two opposing forces, which allows you to see through any confusion that is obscuring your vision. How or where can you reach out for support? This key also illuminates the cause-and-effect balance of positive or negative thoughts and actions that reveal the deeper lessons along the way. You will gain a profound awareness once you’re able to reflect on the choices you have made in the past (both good and bad). Be fair with your heart, as well as those around you. It is important to not make assumptions, and to remain as objective as you can. Questions to ask yourself this week: How have I grown for my greatest mistakes? How can I transform my perspective? Additional Meanings: Equality • Balance • Integrity • Truth • Impartiality.
