09 Apr The week ahead: April 9th through April 15th of 2018:
•
We’re getting into the final two weeks of Aries season, as well as the final week of Mercury Retrograde, which goes direct as of the 15th. Don’t get too excited yet; it still takes another week or two afterwords for all the kinks to get ironed out, so if needing to start a new project, make a big purchase, sign a new contract, or buy electronics, my suggestion would be to wait until the end of the month, to give you a little breathing room. With mercury retrograde, not all of the info you need will be available, or easily accessible, so it might take a minute for all the puzzle pieces to fall into place. Make sure to really take your time this Sunday–on the days mercury goes direct or retrograde are the craziest. Being forewarned is being forearmed, so have a plan in place if shit gets real and you gotta find another way to work if your car breaks down, or all of a sudden your laptop has an existential crisis and refuses to turn on, taking all your important projects with it.
Mercury retrograde time always has a way of helping us turn inward while examining the past. This may be a really difficult time if things are coming to light that you never considered before, or all of a sudden, you have an insight into some crazy situation from the past; possibly too, revisiting every person from the past that personally attacked you or shut you down. Mercury Retrograde is also in the sign of Aries this time, so this can speak about the themes that might be coming up. For example, Aries is a sign that loves new experiences or pioneering new possibilities, so you may be considering right now what you need to let go of, so you can have more of those. Aries is also fiercely independent, so you could be reconsidering partnering up with others if the partnership looks to keep you in a cage or won’t allow you to grow by being yourself. There’s very few things an Aries won’t try, so consider being experimental with the way you think and communicate, with the exception of being brash or harsh because you have no patience left. Aries are also quick: quick to love, quick to judge (they trust their gut), and quick to punch you in your throat if you’re not acting right (being ruled by Mars gives an Aries temper a certain, flare 😉 ), so if we can focus on that quick to love part, things might go more smoothly and you won’t be misinterpreted as being an asshole when you’re really just trying to be direct and clear.
So how can we use the energy of this week to help us? My advice is this: What needs to be let go of so you can experience life in a way that ushers in new possibilities? What partnerships support who you really are and are you being vulnerable in a way that those partnerships can find you? How’s the way you communicate changing? Are you putting your personal flare on it or are you just mowing people down? This week, be quick to love. After a retrograde season of remembering how others may have hurt us, it’s important to remember how we interact with others, too <3
P.S. – We have a new moon coming up on the 15th/16th. We’ll be covering that next week!
Go ahead and pick a card from the picture above (pick one, two, or all three–choose what you’re drawn to). The stone you see in the picture above is rose quartz. Rose Quartz is a mothering crystal, inspiring nurturing of the self if one has lost their own mother. It promotes bonding and is a good stone to place on the stomach during pregnancy, and to take to the hospital to be near the baby during birth. It is also soothing in the days to follow. Placing baby milk or food within a circle of Rose Quartz for a few minutes helps ease colic or feeding difficulties. To call in love or strengthen a romantic relationship, place pink roses and twin Rose Quartz hearts on a private love altar and light pink candles, or enclose a photo of yourself and a lover within a heart shape of tiny Rose Quartz crystals. Rose Quartz may also be placed by the bed or in the relationship corner of the home to restore trust and harmony, and encourage unconditional love. As a stone of love, tenderness and sensuality, Rose Quartz is a powerful aphrodisiac, stimulating sensual imagination. Rose Quartz is a wonderful sleep crystal for adults and children, providing beautiful dreams as well as preventing nightmares or night terrors. It also helps children to not be afraid of the dark. Rose Quartz is a calming and reassuring crystal, excellent for use in trauma or crisis, including the emotional upheaval of mid-life crisis. It strengthens empathy, sensitivity, and aids in the acceptance of necessary change. It is also an excellent stone for comforting grief. A large piece of unpolished Rose Quartz in the workplace provides ongoing protection against intrusion and gossip. It is also a professional support stone for beauty consultants. My hope for you this week, when things continue to be trying, is that you choose a compassionate response; as much as you can. Sometimes, that means turning it into a joke, being kind when someone else is being an ass, or maybe just ignoring them completely. People are going to be jerks sometimes, but we don’t have to join them and pass on the asshole baton. Think about the far ranging effects of your actions, and choose love as often as you can <3
