27 Mar The week ahead: March 26th through April 1st of 2018:
•
We have a full moon coming up this Saturday in the sign of Libra! Since this is the second full moon this month, it’s a considered a blue moon, speaking to it’s rarity. You wanna know what else is rare? Patience to an Aries, so don’t expect this week to get any easier if you feel that push and pull to get up and go, only to realize you have more work to do or more information to gather, before you can.
Maybe patience will be the name of the game this week, considering mercury is retrograde in the midst of everything. Retrograde time is really about re-working, re-writing, re-vising, re-visiting, or re anything that needs a good do-over. This time is here for us to take a quick break, go over our plans, and make sure we’re still on track with our hearts desires. If not, now is the time to make revisions, gather more information, and plan for our next steps. Truly, and if used with presence, this time can propel us forward in powerful ways by bringing purpose and clarity to our mission. It can also be hell for electronics, communication, travel, or legal matters, so just take care right now to give your self extra time to get places, chill on making any big purchases or signing anything legally binding (at least until you have all the information needed to make the best decision), and take your time saying what you mean. Really though, if you double and triple check your work to catch any errors, you can sign paperwork and purchase big ticket items no problem. Thoroughness will get you ahead here, so TAKE YOUR TIME. Also too, don’t be surprised if you see a couple blasts from your past. People and themes from the past always have a way of sneaking up during retrograde season, so when you can have fun, do so–this is the balance in all things.
And speaking of balance, the full moon in Libra is going to be about all of that, as well as a focus on our deepest relationships, and finding our inner peace. Libra is a sign that loves all these things, especially if these things fulfill their idea of beautiful. Ruled by Venus, this sign looks for balance, is a natural born mediator, and is known to sacrifice whatever is needed for the peace of the whole, including their own. This sign is very non-confrontational, so I find it incredibly interesting (and incredibly irritating) to be here during Aries season (a sign that has no problem with confrontation, and confrontation isn’t necessarily bad at all) running my gears in place instead of getting the traction I’d like. This full moon might be a doozy, asking you to hurry up and wait. The amazeballs astrologer Kathy Biehl says just this,
The Full Moon is lighting up the Aries/Libra axis, which seesaws between the individual and the Other. We’re receiving an emotional status report about the role of specific people in our lives, as well as the dynamics, agreements and rule books under which our relationships operate. Continuing as is is not an option. The report is coming with a shove to do something about all of this.
The pressure and demand for movement come from the dynamic configuration, called a t-square, between the Full Moon and a conjunction at their midpoint, of Mars (ruler of our drive) and Saturn (lord of structure and order), in Capricorn (sign of institutions and the status quo).
A Mars/Saturn combo can feel like one foot on the gas pedal and one foot on the brake. The pair can also bring measured, deliberate action. That’s happening now. Stasis is not possible, because the pair is receiving an equal push from emotions and intellect, and the upshot is something’s gotta give.
Whatever comes up for you now, incentive will abound to take next steps. Or tectonic shifts could occur before your eyes. You could experience – or witness – anger, a rise in gumption and determination. Responsibility, commitment and accountability could play a role.
There may also be a sense of a long time coming. Mars and Saturn are both planets of timing. They work like the second and hour hands on a clock: Saturn deals in long units of measurement, while Mars is more like a trigger.
Their coming together now says, “It’s time.” Time for what? Look back to 2013, when the Uranus/Pluto square activated the degrees of Capricorn that Mars and Saturn are currently occupying. Foundations and structures shifted massively and permanently then, affecting how we experience relationships and, in many instances, fundamental family dynamics.
This was especially true in the last week of 2013, when a cardinal t-square took place in roughly this same place, and involving Mars. Then, as now, the pressure of the t-square dumped out in the early degrees of Cancer, home of the Moon and sign of family, nurturing and tribal tradition.
Whatever that year and tectonic shifts meant for you, it’s time for the next big stage.
Your heart is on board. It knows what it wants. It’s sending clear signals, too. Venus, ruler of relationships, money and creativity – and ruler of the Libra Full Moon – is in a distant but easy flow with Mars. She’s telling him what she wants, and he’s delivering the goods, slowly but tangibly. That’s exactly how Venus in Taurus likes her desires fulfilled: physically, palpably, so she can be sure of and savor them.
So how can we use the energy of this week to help us? My advice is this: What needs to be re-balanced right now, and how can you make a plan of action to follow through with whatever information shows up for you, to support this re-balance? How has your story about knowing who you are at your core, independent from your family or community, developed since 2013? Are you ready to bring this story back to your people or reintegrate this new story of self back into your family/community, to help yourself further develop? This week, have some patience. You’re gonna need it <3
Think about drawing down the moon this week. The full moon is a time when relationships of all kinds are highlighted, including the one with yourself. It’s also a time when projects started at the last new moon can be harvested or completed. Take stock right now of any imbalances in your partnerships and wrap up projects that need to move on to the next level. You can also set out a bowl of water at this full moon to soak up all the energy. You can use it later to scry in or use the water to nourish yourself with. If you like to do incantations, prayer or mediation at the full moon, this will add some pep to your step. I like this Pagan/Wiccan incantation I found that says, “Mother Goddess, lend me your light. Give me your power on this faithful night. I invoke you into my being and soul. Fill up my vessel, make me feel whole. I stand before you in awe and in love. I cherish your gifts you send from above. I ask you tonight to show unto me. My mother, my Goddess, So Mote It Be.” Feel free to change this in any way you like or to make it your own, any way you see fit. Make sure to face the full moon and out stretch your arms so you can take everything in. Enjoy this powerful energy!
Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two, or all three cards–pick what you’re drawn to). The herb you see in the picture is Tarragon. This plant is part of the mugwort and wormwood family, and was used by Indians to attract love. It was rubbed on the clothes and body. Fuzzy Weed or Tarragon is carried to bring good luck on the hunt. is was said to cure the bites and stings of venomous beasts and mad dogs. Spiritually, the odor of tarragon stimulates a deeper sense of the true self. It also supports conscious or lucid dreaming, and astral travel.
Tarragon is an herb of consecration and brings a Magick which promotes compassion for others. It’s also used as an aphrodisiacs and in love charms. In the Middle Ages people believed that whoever carried a branch of tarragon need fear no dragon or snake, and for centuries it was used to cure the bites of poisonous creatures. Now Tarragon is used for protection, to banish fear, and for cleansing. Plant tarragon around your house to protect against evil. Or, because tarragon winters well indoors, plant it in a pot and put it in a window with southern exposure for the same purpose. If you’d like to learn more about this herb, please go here.

If you chose card #1: Your message this week is about Courage and Endurance. Your card goes on to say that Elephant balances strength and gentleness, but the main source of her strength is love. Instead of using her strength to exert power over others, she uses it to keep others from exerting power over her. Her strength shines in her compassion, herself self-esteem and in her levels of endurance. Her faith in her spiritual strength keeps her resilient. The spirit of Elephant is a reminder of what your life’s motivation is, fueling you with the drive and inner strength to pursue it. Additional Meanings: Self control • Inner strength • Courage • Compassion • Love • Patience • Vision • Endurance.

If you chose card #2: Your message this week is about Release and Revelation. Your card goes on to say that Chameleon is the shaman of adaptation. Seizing the power of cloaking, he changes color to blend with his shifting surroundings. Life is change, and you have the choice to either accept change or to resist it. By clinging to ideas that no longer work within the structure of your spiritual evolution, the winds of revelation will force you to go with the flow. Chameleon is here to help you shift the colors of your state of being, setting you on the path to your highest truths. Relax, place trust in yourself, and release fear. By attuning yourself to the magic of Chameleon, you become more receptive to the powers around you. Additional Meanings: Change • Sudden shift • Release • Upheaval • Revelation • Divine intervention • Liberation.

If you chose card #3: Your message this week is about Patience and Perspective. Your card goes on to say that a prophet of calm and patience, Praying Mantis changes his landscape by hanging upside down, reveling in a moment of observance and clarity while he waits. This is a time of suspension between the physical and spiritual worlds. He is your guide in opening yourself to new perspectives, through which you will discover solutions and gain new insight. When life is at a standstill, look to the past for lessons learned, yet look to the future through the eyes of spirit renewed. A shift in perspective develops foresight, which will bring a sense of peace and understanding in where you want to go. In the stillness of meditation, you are accessing greater depth of wisdom and creativity. Additional Meanings: Perspective • Patience • Enlightenment • Sacrifice • Prophecy • Letting go.

My hope for you this week is that you know your calm space when shit gets stupid. It’s gonna be a real test of your patience, but in rising to the challenge, you may be able to be calm enough to find your next steps going forward, or at the very least, receive the next piece of the puzzle. Your evolution is a scared journey–enjoy it <3
This is your week! Make it an amazing one 🙂
