The week ahead: July 17th through July 23rd:

1

This is the last week of Cancer season, so again with the big themes of mother, home, your inner world, personal projects, family and roots will be wrapping up if you’ve done the work needed to tackle any of these issues. You’ll find that your actual mother, talks about your ancestral roots, and your personal home may have come across your radar more than usual. This is the week to start any mother healing, ancestry healing, or to get your home and inner world working just the way you like it. We actually go into Leo season on the 22nd, and have a new moon on the 22nd/23rd, but I’ll cover more of that next week, so stay tuned!

The animal that rules Cancer is the crab and these guys aren’t the ones to be messed with, especially if you threaten what they hold dear. Hard and kinda mean on the outside, but soft and squishy on the inside would be the best way to describe the vulnerable emotional nature of these ocean dwellers. Cancer’s also aren’t very known for being straightforward (ever seen a crab walk?) so watch out this week for being passive aggressive or avoiding something difficult especially if it’s something emotional for you.

So how can we use the energy of this week to help us? My advice is this: What inner healing work do you need to face, and how can you creatively channel any of that pain, grief, sadness, or anger into something to help you release what you’ve been holding onto? In what ways are you holding yourself back or protecting yourself from being vulnerable and can you see how this is hindering your success or advancement? Where can you start to show up for yourself and be the mother figure you need in your life? I have a really difficult time being vulnerable. I know this stems from my abandonment issues with both my mother and father, and while I’m sure you guys would argue with me about my vulnerability, please know behind the scenes that I fight with myself every week with what to share. It’s hard! I don’t want to go overboard, but I also don’t want to leave you hanging. It’s this fine balance that I have to walk each week and it’s been incredibly therapeutic for me to share what’s going on in my life with you guys–thank you <3 I think with this vulnerability comes a fear of being seen, also. What if you don’t like me? What if I suck and I just don’t know it? What if I make a fool of myself? It came to a point where I had to say, so what! It’s especially hard to talk about the bad stuff connected with my parents. I used to get text messages and emails from them in the beginning, berating me for saying anything at all on here. But you know, as a writer, I came to the understanding that if you had wanted me to write nicely about you, maybe you should have acted with kindness–just sayin’. Let me say this too, in terms of  my parents: if both of them had been who I needed them to be, I would not be who I am today, and I’m deeply proud of who I’ve become and am still becoming. It doesn’t make my past with them ok, but it does offer me the freedom to be real, vulnerable, and kind with myself, while being aware of and stopping any behavior I learned from them so I don’t continue a cycle. And the best part of all? Being who I needed so badly when I was younger, now becomes my clarion call to be a better person and step into the leadership role of my own life. This week, be vulnerable. Your higher calling depends on it <3

Go ahead and pick a card from above (pick one, two, or all three cards–pick what you’re drawn to). The stone you see in the picture is amethyst. Amethyst is a wonderful talisman for use in the creative arts, especially in darker shades. It assists endeavors where new, original results need to be created using tools and methods of the past. It is often used as the Artist’s Stone, the Composer’s Stone, the Inventor’s, Poet’s and Painter’s Stones. Keep an Amethyst crystal or cluster in the area to focus and amplify the creative elements of the Universal Life Force. Called the “All-healer,” Amethyst is one of the most effective crystals for healing people, plants and animals. Natural unpolished Amethysts or geodes are particularly helpful placed where plants will not grow or animals refuse to sit. It also counteracts negative earth energies beneath buildings or anywhere that feels hostile. Amethyst protects against psychic attack, paranormal harm or ill-wishing, and returns the energy back to the universe after being transformed into positive, loving energy. To increase this power and attract good luck, draw an image of the sun and the crescent moon over an Amethyst in lavender incense smoke. Referred to as “nature’s tranquilizer,” Amethyst calms and soothes, assisting the transmission of neural signals through the brain. It relieves obsessive compulsive disorder and hyperactivity in children and animals. Place under the pillow or mattress, or rub the center of the forehead counter-clockwise to cure insomnia and stimulate pleasant dreams. It is especially effective for children’s recurring nightmares and fears of the dark, and may help alleviate homesickness. Amethyst is an excellent stone for diplomats, negotiators and business people. It calms angry temperaments and gives a distinct advantage in situations where debating is required. Wear or hold Amethyst to bring in spiritual insights coupled with intellectual reasoning. As a luck and prosperity crystal, Amethyst is good for reducing the tendency to overspend, gambling addictions or unwise investments. If you chose card #1: Your message this week is about the Four of Wands. Your card goes on to say Success! You have reached a period of completion after all of your hard work. This card indicates a time of celebration and an outpouring of positive energy. With this newfound success, it is also an ideal time to organize celebratory gatherings with family members and loved ones. An emergence of peace and stability is on the horizon, and you understand the process and pay off of working hard towards your goals. You’re able to nurture your loving relationships with others, and bring wisdom in abundance into the lives of the people around you. Additional Meanings: Prosperity • Peace • Completion • Stability.

If you chose card #2: Your message this week is about the Ace of Swords. Your card goes on to say that the Ace of Swords indicates a heightened state of spiritual and mental clarity. It is the emergence of great determination and power in order to reach your goal successfully. It marks the beginning stage, new project, plan, or vision. Very often this also connects with a new shift in consciousness, as you are able to move ahead with wisdom and truth. Now is the time to seize any opportunities or ideas that surface, in order to create new positive changes in your life. A time to stand out on your own, against all odds. Additional Meanings: Beginning • Prosperity • Joy • Victory • Determination • Power.

If you chose card #3: Your message this week is about the Ace of Cups. Your card goes on to say that the Ace of Cups is a celebratory card indeed! It indicates a time of new beginnings and relationships that leave you feeling energized and giddy. This could mean new romance or deeply rooted connections with others. It is a powerful force that regards the emergence of Universal Love and cosmic ties with soul families and friends. Your psychic senses may also be heightened at this time, so it is important that you trust in your inner voice and intuition. A wonderful period to explore new avenues of self expression and creativity, which will raise your vibration to a whole new level! Additional Meanings: Motherhood • Marriage • Productiveness • Good health • Friendship • Romantic love • Psychic growth.

My hope for you this week is that you take this last part of Cancer season to work on some inner stuff. Release and let go of what’s no longer working for you, or holding you back. And share how you feel with someone you care about, will ya? Even if you being vulnerable doesn’t get you what you want, you have given yourself the gift of freedom. Be good to yourself this week and allow yourself to heal <3

This is your week! Make it an amazing one 🙂
